PHOTORJEUNSION (IPL) - LUMECCA

The Lumecca uses intense pulsed light (IPL) to treat pigmented and vascular lesions. The device works through photothermolysis, which targets uneven skin tone to reduce or even eliminate hyperpigmented spots. During treatment, the device emits a bright beam of light that creates a sensation of heat on the skin.

Following treatment, a feeling of warmth, redness, swelling, and peeling are completely normal reactions that will dissipate within 24 to 48 hours. By the end of the session, the targeted spots will be darker before fading in the following days.

Is this treatment good for treating rosacea?

It's important to know that rosacea is a progressive skin condition that cannot be cured. It's only possible to control the symptoms. Intense pulsed light with our Lumecca device is a highly effective treatment for reducing redness caused by burst blood vessels in the face. Keep in mind that anti-inflammatory and skin-soothing treatments will be necessary to ensure complete control of your skin condition.

Can this treatment treat my Melasma?

No! Melasma is a hyperpigmentation of the skin that manifests as dark spots, often linked to hormonal factors, sun exposure, and other environmental factors. Here are some reasons why treating melasma with IPL is generally not recommended:

  1. Light sensitivity : Melasma is often sensitive to light and can worsen with certain light treatments, including pulsed light. Exposure to light can sometimes result in darker pigmentation.
  2. Uneven lesions : Melasma appears as irregular and often deep patches. IPL treatments may not effectively target pigments at different depths in the skin.
  3. Risk of irritation : Pulsed light can cause skin irritation, which is not ideal for people with melasma, as irritation can exacerbate symptoms.

If you suffer from this skin condition, the Perfect Derma Peel treatment is the one for you.

What skin type or skin problem is this for?

IPL treatment can be used to improve skin radiance, even out skin tone, and stimulate collagen production. We recommend this treatment for skin types 1 to 4. For skin types 5 and 6, chemical peels remain the safest alternative.
